Sportsbet is a modern and fun crypto sportsbooks. Their live betting in particular is fantastic! Sportsbet is from the same trustworthy team that runs BitCasino (review).

See our horse racing crypto betting guide for details on their excellent racing product. They also have an excellent casino (review) which is worth checking out.

User experience

The website is very good. Everything looks clean and works as it should, while matches are easy to find and load quickly. The website is very user friendly and displays a wealth of information. Finding your betting history is easy, and the bet slip looks great and generally works well.

There are a number of promotions and features, such as a price boost or bet builder, which bring Sportsbet’s user experience a level above others.

On mobile, Sportsbet are one of the few crypto sportsbooks to have a dedicated app. It’s beautiful to look at and runs just as smoothly as the website.

One small complaint is that when you clear a bet from your bet slip (on desktop) it sometimes reappears repeatedly. We did have to refresh our page a couple of times to ensure the selection did clear for good.

Sportsbet has the best user experience of all sportsbooks.

Odds

Sportsbook's overround: 6.15%

50:50 equivalent: 1.88

There is quite a range here, some odds a very competitive while some are quite poor value. Be sure to check the odds comparisons.

Range of bets

Range of sports, leagues and events: Huge, everything down to Futsal and Volleyball.

Range of bet types per event: Large, but it varies depending on how high profile the event is. NBA games get 37 different bet types, big soccer games get about 75.

Live betting

Sportsbet’s live betting is extremely good. The in depth game stats are great and the live streams add extra spice to an already impressive offering. Betting is consistently available, rarely becoming unavailable due to in game events (like one team scoring).

Live odds changes are handled gracefully by the bet slip. While other live betting platforms feel buggy and unstable Sportsbet’s is rock solid and a pleasure to bet on.

Cash out is available on Sportsbet, which is another string to the sportsbook’s bow. The feature seems stable, with transactions and odds changes dealt with well.

Sportsbet has the best live betting of all sportsbooks.

Transactions

Unique deposit addresses: Generated automatically.

Confirmations before bet: Instant.

Withdrawal time: Instant.

Player to player transfer: Not available.

The minimum withdrawal of 2 m฿ – approximately $25 – is high compared to other crypto sportsbooks.

You do need to wait for one confirmation after deposit in order to make a withdrawal or Euro conversion.

Sportsbet has the equal best transactions of all sportsbooks.

Customer service

Customer service channels available: Live chat and email.

Speed of replies: Live chat replies instantly 24/7. Our emails took about an hour or less to be replied to.

Accuracy of replies: Very good, they may not be experts on all things crypto and sports betting but they are experts on their product and they are helpful and professional.

Real life customer service test

Question: What happens in tennis bets on match winner if one player retires injured?

Answer:

In case of retirement all undecided markets are settled as void.

Notes: This is different from the standard tennis rule so I checked on Sportsbet's betting rules and the customer service operator was correct.

Privacy and security

Information required at signup: Email address and date of birth.

2 factor authentication: Available.

Sportsbet customer service suggest that you may need to send a passport scan and proof of address before you can withdraw. This isn’t mentioned on sign up and does drastically reduce the privacy of the website. We didn’t need to complete this process for our withdrawal, but there’s a possibility that they’ll hold your money until you do.

Bonuses

All bonuses on Sportsbet go through their Clubhouse rewards program. As you progress through their tiers – starting at Steel and ending at Diamond – you earn free bets, free spins, free hands or cashback, all of them tailored to your individual gameplay. Points are earned through placing sports bets, or staking on spins or table games.

Your progress can all be viewed through a clear, easy to follow tracker.

The program itself is nice, but it’s a shame there’s no first deposit bonus.

Overall

Sportsbet is very user friendly and a great place for new crypto bettors to start out. They make sports betting easy and entertaining just how it should be with a genuinely fantastic live offering.

The KYC process is a big negative, but if you’re willing to accept this you’ll have a nice experience betting with Sportsbet.

Hey, have you ever needed to give any IDs or do any KYC process stuff while using sportsbet? Was planning on using either nitro or sportsbet but sportsbet’s lines are better. Nitro has never asked for KYC, so my only worry is that sportsbet eventually will.

I nor anyone I know has had to verify their ID with Sportsbet or its sister site BitCasino (review) (same owners and license).

Having said that I am also concerned by reports that Sportsbet do require ID more often than other crypto sportsbooks. They seem to be leaning in the direction of government currency sportsbooks, given they now accept government currencies. It could be that they feel they need to be stricter about IDing users to keep their banking partners and licensing authorities happy.

But what I think is more likely is that they ID users who they honestly think are trying to defraud them, particularly bonus fraud.

It’s a fact that is more private and anonymous than Sportsbet, but I think it’s worth the trade off and happily use and recommend Sportsbet.

I like them, but their website is very taxing on your processor. It makes my fans spin like crazy! They need to simplify things.

This is the most aesthetically pleasing bitcoin site out there. It blows cloudbet away. Being a golf bettor I can also say the outright selection is second only to directbet.

I am now a member and I will start sending satoshi right away.

    Edit August 11, 2016
I had a delayed payment on a stage win in the Tour De France but the communication from customer service during the process was outstanding. The bet was paid correctly within 48 hours and I cashed easily. I use this site in conjunction with directbet.eu for golf wagering. Nobody else compares for providing options in any sportsbook world, bitcoin or fiat.
Great book. I have become a bigger fan.

Very disappointed in American Football offering. No point spreads? That doesn’t make sense. Americans bet on football with a point spread. Period.

    Edit September 25, 2016
Customer service responded to my earlier criticism about the point spreads. They were kind enough to give me a very generous credit which I promptly doubled in their blackjack game and then lost on a sure thing ML in American Football.

They told me they would update me when they had fixed the “glitch” about not having point spreads. I noticed that day that there were some point spreads on the site. So I will be honest in saying I am not sure if they really fixed anything or just appeased a pissy American. Either way, they now have a nice offering with alternate spreads.

Today I compared the Bills/Cards game. The -110 line is dead on at 4.5 at 5dimes but stronger that Nitrogen. The alt lines vary but are a little weaker than nitrogen and 5dimes.
I am very pleased with their customer service and it looks like they are responding to the American market quite nicely.
