Changing Market Realities Drive Platform Closure

On September 15, 2026, CoinEx’s leadership team formally announced plans to sunset its global exchange services. Founding executive Haipo Yang acknowledged that maintaining operational infrastructure under escalating regulatory burdens and persistent market contractions had become unviable.

Rather than transferring ownership or maintaining fragile operations, management determined that a structured liquidation provided the cleanest resolution for clients holding platform balances. Platform assurances emphasize an asset reserve ratio exceeding 100%, allowing account holders to retrieve their complete funds without shortfall.

Critical Timeline for Account Holders

The wind-down proceeds along a strict multi-stage schedule to allow systematic asset retrieval:

  1. September 15, 2026➡️ Account creation is permanently closed. Marketing commission distributions cease, derivative positions enter reduce-only status, and new entries into credit, yield, or fiat channels are blocked.
  2. September 22, 2026➡️ Termination of all non-spot features. On-chain token deposits halt, with an exception for native platform tokens.
  3. September 29, 2026➡️ Complete cessation of spot trading activity and execution of native token repurchases.
  4. December 22, 2026➡️ Final operational deadline. Direct online portal withdrawals terminate at 02:00 UTC.

Phasing Out Futures, Lending, and Yield Products

Prior to September 22, 2026, clients must address positions across non-spot products. All outstanding futures commitments automatically settle at index valuations on that day if users do not exit manually.

Automated strategy bots, dual-investment structures, savings yields, and collateralized borrowing lines will similarly be unraveled by the system, returning underlying balance principal to primary trading accounts.

Spot Liquidation and Native Token Settlement

Spot markets remain available until September 29, 2026. Following this deadline, remaining non-USDT tokens with active external liquidity will be converted to USDT in batches over time based on real market execution prices.

Tokens lacking liquid external venues will undergo wallet deprecation, requiring users to transfer those balances on-chain prior to the cutoff. Additionally, the native token, CET, is backed by an unconditional platform buyback at a rate of 0.005 USDT per token through September 29, after which remaining balances automatically convert at the same figure.

Associated network infrastructure, including CoinEx Smart Chain and OneSwap, will simultaneously sunset.

Withdrawal Guidelines and Long-Term Custody Terms

Direct asset withdrawals remain accessible through December 22, 2026. Unclaimed USDT remaining after the deadline transfers to independent custody, subject to a 5% monthly holding fee starting after the 90-day grace period.

Account holders retain the right to submit manual recovery claims until August 22, 2028, by completing identity verification with official support channels. Independent non-custodial software products—namely CoinEx Wallet and CoinEx Vault—remain entirely unaffected by the exchange’s shutdown and continue normal operations.
